The houses and Throne Breaker three
The Throne Breaker Three and Rise of the Houses of Eidolons:
With the human mind vastly enhanced by the EMS and the human form a highly upgradable and modifiable commodity there arose a class of humans who became known as the Eidolons. The first true Eidolons were known as the Throne Breaker Three, a mercenary squad born in the metropolis of Budapest, whose legend and infamy remain unrivaled. A death squad so proficient at assassinating and making politicians, megacorp executives, and syndicate royalty disappear that for the 10 years of the squad's existence, few willingly accepted their respective thrones. Madonna Oriente, Odin, and Aiko were the first of the Eidolons and the eventual founders of the first Houses of Eidolons. The three disbanded to launch their respective Houses: The House of Weeping Gomorrah, The House of Odin, and The House of Autumn's End. Within a decade the three houses had expanded across every major city on earth and newer Houses began to arise to compete for the shadow work contracts.
The speed at which the Houses spread and grew outpaced any effort by law enforcement or the military to snuff out these shadow operations. Corporations were quick to begin using the services as a means to get ahead of their rivals without damaging their image or getting their top brass arrested. With corporate levels of support came corporate levels of wealth, and wealth owns the politicians. Soon the houses were nearly untouchable. It wasn't long before disgruntled beat cops and military commanders alike came a-knocking to contract the House for their own ends. Now, few try to interfere or close down the Houses, they are simply too powerful, too numerous, and embedded into the function of the dynamic and complex society.
The Houses of Eidolon are now commonplace everywhere, each city having numerous chapter houses that vie for contracts from corporations, governments, and anyone wealthy enough to afford the elite services of the houses.
How the houses started
The Throne Breaker Three is a mercenary squad born in the metropolis of Budapest, whose legend and infamy remain unrivaled. A death squad so proficient at assassinating and making politicians, megacorp executives, and syndicate royalty disappear that for the 10 years of their existence, few willingly accepted their respective thrones. Madonna Oriente, Odin, and Aiko the first of the Eidolons, the founders of the first Houses. They disbanded only to launch their respective Houses: The House of Weeping Gomorrah, The House of Odin, and The House of Autumn's End.
Madonna Oriente, the Ghost of Luna, the Temptress of the East, the Matriarch of the House of Weeping Gomorrah. She has many names, many shadows of selves come and gone and are still present. One of the infamous Throne Breaker Three, whose legends were born in the metropoles of Budapest, though her scars predated even that time to a shadow of a self, rumored to be Luna Bellegante. Luna, the mother of Prima Ceiba, the pharmaceutical that unlocked immortality for mankind or at least the mankind that could afford it. The same Luna who was assassinated on the eve of her 28th at the command of Samsara Medical’s CEO so he could complete his hostile takeover of her company La Ceiba. It is perhaps fitting then that 5 years after her death her ghost waltzed into his private offices in all the trappings of a high-end call girl, not a minute older than the day she had died.
Odin was military, a commander of a black-ops unit in a past life. He was trained to be the most lethal kind of killer, liberally modified with the most military-grade cybernetics that no one had heard of. A bear of a man with muscles of steel and the wisdom of a well-seasoned veteran when he found himself a Ronin, a mercenary working the streets. No one knows how he left the military, how he seemingly walked away with all his confidential cybernetic modifications and knowledge but he did and they let him. The rumor goes that he saw the ugliest shit a man could see, lived through it, and came out the other side, and not a sole got in his way when he chose to leave, not even the top military brass. He deserved too much respect for the things he had done.
Regardless, he found himself working the streets of Budapest as Ronin, a profession he was, quite literally, built for. In a short time, he became a legend, his name hit like thunder when it was mentioned and provoked fear. Somewhere in the shuffle of jobs he rustled up two partners, the femme fatale Madonna Oriente and the enigmatic psionic witch Aiko. The Throne Breaker Three were born and the rest is legend, myth, and history.
Little is known about Aiko and she has always been an enigma, an oddity, even within the Throne Breaker Three. What is known is that she came from the Conclave of Himalaya, in the early days of the Conclave when the elders were delving into the depths of their newly formed psionic abilities. The myth of Aiko holds that she was not born but conjured forth from the unified psychic energy of the elders. Whether a newly formed creation or some force far older conjured into the real is heavily debated but whatever the source her powers, from conception, were said to be far more powerful than any other that was or is.

House of Autumn's End:
Classification: Generalist House
Specialization: [Psy Ops] [Drug Arts] [Sabotage] [Bio-Technologies][Art Forgery]
Leaders: Aiko, Sakura, Hana, Shizuka, Tsubaki
Notable Eidolons:
Overview:
House of Autumn’s End has always been an enigmatic outlier among the Houses from its inception. One of the 3 founding Houses, it is a House of absurdity, of opposing dualities—of refined elegance and chaotic power. A House of delicate nature and hard cybernetics balanced in a sort of neo-feng shui. Though the House attracts many odd sorts of Eidolons it is often regarded as one of the most powerful and dangerous of Houses, in part due to the unusually high number of latent psionic Eidolons and its rumored connections to the Conclave of Himalaya.
The House of Odin:
Classification: Generalist House
Specialization: [House-of-Houses] [Repo Work] [Hail Mary] [Endurance Work] [Fixer]
Leader: Odin
Notable Eidolons: Jormungandr,
Overview:
When shit has hits the fan, the jobs gone sideways, or worse, failed completely and the blowback is on its way, that is when the House of Odin is called. Known for never turning down a job no matter the odds the house is a hail-mary maker, legendary in pulling off long-shot jobs and fixing the mistakes of jobs gone wrong. One of the 3 founding houses, the House of Odin is well regarded and somewhat feared by the other houses. Due to the fixer nature of the House’s work, it often means it must operate against the Eidolons of other houses who are trying to save their necks after a botched job. In this way, Odin has long served to keep houses in check.
House of the Steel Lotus:
Classification: Specialist House
Specialization: [Wet Jobs] [Sabotage] [Subterfuge] [Espionage] [Shadow Work]
Leader: Sumatra
Notable Eidolons: Disco-Viper
Overview:
Though not a founding house the House of the Steel Lotus was quick to follow and has never wavered from its specialization of shadow work. Regarded as a perfectionist in professionalism, its Eidolons are cold, calculated, and above all professional. Whether cyber crime, assassination, or any other job if you need it done discreetly with no chance of blowback then it is harder to find a better choice than the House of the Steel Lotus, as long as you can afford them.
House of Fathoms:
Classification: Specialist House
Specialization: [Cyber Crime] [Embezzlement] [Infringement] [ScapeGoating] [Asset Seizure]
Leader: ???
Notable Eidolons:
Overview:
An adventurous and mysterious House, the House of Fathoms is a specialist House at working within Omni-N structures, manipulating and extracting information, transactions, trade secrets, and hack and breach operations for its clientele. It is a house dominated by netdiver, driven by the need and desire to dive ever deeper into the depths of Omni-N. Though originally the only House was a virtual construct within Submerssion space, when the house expanded its work in physical “asset seizure and transfer”, they began to open physical House locations to accommodate non-netdiving Eidolons required for the work.
House of the Gorgon:
Classification: Generalist House
Specialization: [Repo Work] [Smuggling] [Drug Arts] [Illegal Medicine]
Leader: The Hydra
Notable Eidolons: Janga, Neo-Shiva, Lamassu
Overview:
House of the Gorgon is often utilized by criminal enterprises and syndicates especially around moving goods and dealing with situations that require knowledge and specialties in medicine and chemicals. Though not a founding house it has been around longer than most and its repo work is regarded as some of the finest and most efficient. Eidolons from the House of the Gorgon, for better or worse, are often known for being chem junkies and pushing the boundaries on body modification through cybernetics and gene tailoring.
House of Neon Hades:
Classification: Specialist House
Specialization: [Smash-&-Grab] [Brute Force] [Chaos] [Arsen]
Leader: Muerte De La Madre/Padre
Notable Eidolons:
Overview:
The newest of Houses has made waves amongst the other Houses as its specialization is considered a slap in the face of traditional House rules. Neon Hades abandons the professional nature of Eidolon Houses in favor of extreme violence, overwhelming force, and sewing chaos and turmoil in every job it performs. Loud, violent, unruly, and often short-lived its eidolons are a far cry from the usual expectation. However, the house has filled a niche of being brutally efficient at sending loud, bloody messages and using extreme force and well-crafted chaos to achieve their client's goals. One must be prepared however for chaos, carnage, and many explosions to be a part of any job performed. In other words, not a house for jobs that require finesse and subtlety.
